About the role
Build and scale the backend services behind a payments platform used by merchants in the US.
What you will do
- Design and build Node.js / TypeScript services and APIs for payment flows
- Own reliability, performance and data integrity of transaction-critical services
- Work with product and US engineering on design reviews and releases
- Write tests, monitor production and fix issues fast
What you need
- 5+ years of backend development, mainly Node.js (TypeScript preferred)
- Strong with REST APIs, relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and caching
- Services deployed on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS or similar)
- Product company experience; ownership of features in production
Good to have
- Payments, fintech or banking domain
- Event-driven systems (Kafka/SQS/SNS)
- PCI-DSS awareness
