The role
The R&D Manager leads the Hyderabad engineering organisation responsible for the company's existing enterprise products and its new product and technology initiatives. It is the first leadership hire at the centre, reporting to the R&D Manager in the USA, and combines strong technical judgement with people leadership, delivery ownership and close work with Product Management and US leadership.
What you will do
- Own engineering execution across existing products and new initiatives, balancing customer commitments, enhancements, modernisation and innovation
- Hire, develop and retain strong engineers; lead technical leads and teams across development, architecture and quality engineering
- Turn product and business priorities into engineering plans with clear scope, staffing, timelines, dependencies and delivery commitments
- Ensure reliable delivery of secure, scalable, highly available software through sound architecture, engineering standards, code quality, testing, CI/CD and release practices
- Work with Product Management, US leadership and Customer Support to resolve delivery challenges and improve customer outcomes
- Evaluate and guide the adoption of AI/ML and data analytics in the products
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement; spot and resolve technical, delivery and resource risks early
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field
- 8+ years of software product development, including leading multiple engineering teams and hiring technical talent
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and modern product technologies: Java, Spring / Spring Boot, Angular, React, microservices, APIs, databases and cloud platforms
- Strong grasp of the security, scalability, performance and reliability needed for enterprise-grade products
- Good understanding of AI/ML and data analytics, and how to bring them into products
- Experience in a product-based software company is strongly preferred
